Baby Driver Poster Animation

This motion graphic reimagines the promotional poster for Baby Driver, directed by Edgar Wright, transforming it into an animated sequence that captures the film’s high-energy rhythm and visual flair. Inspired by the original design by BLT Communications, the animation features a vintage car racing past the poster’s credits.

The inspiration for the scene came majorly from the film’s unique opening credit scene. The animation stays true to the bold, graphic aesthetic while weaving in many subtle Easter eggs that reference key pieces from the movie.

The sequence opens with a car radio flipping through static and songs until it lands on just the right track—an homage to Baby’s process of soundtracking his own life. Every song snippet is pulled directly from the film’s soundtrack, grounding the piece in the world of the story.

The car itself is a nod to the one Baby drives off in at the film’s end, and the pacing and transitions echo the rhythm and timing of the intro credit scene it is based off of. The final result is a stylized, music-driven promotion to the film’s unforgettable tone and visuals.
